Why register?
The purpose of registration is to collect in the names and contact details of all those who affiliate to Ngāti Hikairo. The Ngāti Hikairo iwi register may be  used for a number of purposes, including:

  • keeping in touch with the membership of Ngāti Hikairo and keeping them informed of important iwi information
  • identifying registered people eligibile to vote on Ngāti Hikairo issues
  • identifying registered people who are entitled to benefit from distribution, scholarship, and other assistance

Who can register?
Eligible members must descend from a Ngāti Hikairo tūpuna – through blood or legal adoption – and whakapapa to a Ngāti Hikairo hapū or marae. To complete the registration you will either be:
•an eligible adult member
•or an adult registering eligible children under the age of 18 years.

  • Please fill this section to the best of your ability. We only require the names of your family (parents, grandparents, great-grandparents...) that will help us link you to Ngāti Hikairo. You may also upload whakapapa and/or supporting documents using the file upload option.
  • Please identify the Ngāti Hikairo hapū to which you affiliate.
  • Please identify the Ngāti Hikairo marae to which you affiliate.
  • If you have completed this form on behalf of an applicant under the age of 18, please add your name and relationship to the applicant in this field.

Complete Details
Online applications are reviewed monthly by Ngāti Hikairo Kaumātua with the expertise and knowledge of Ngāti Hikairo whakapapa. You will be notified if your application has been successful or requires further details.
